I only have two positions for our bed. The first is to put the bed on a wall next to the door, and our toes point to a window. The second is to place the bed diagonally across from the door, but with our heads infront of the window. (This one looks better.) I would like to know which one is better for us, and how do we cure the problem. We have not had good sleep in a long time, so any help would be appreciated.

Never let your bed face (in which your head/feet) point at the door. It is absolutely the worst position you can put your bed in. In chinese customs, this is how the dead are laid out. Additionally, your bedhead should be placed flat against the wall: if your bed is ‘floating’ or doesn’t have a proper back to rest on, it leads to lack of stability in life.

Go with the first solution: put the bed on a wall next to the door. When sleeping, try to make sure the curtains are closed to cover up the window.

Honestly, neither positional layout is considered good, but at least the first solution can remedied.

As for having better sleep:
Don’t have too many reflective objects (mirrors, tv) exposed in your bedroom. The reflective surfaces will stimulate the existing chi, preventing a proper environment for rest and recuperation. Should you have them, try to cover them up with a dark clothe when it’s close to sleeping time.

Hope this info helps :)

The bed should be seen once you open the door, never place the bed under the level roof or uneven part of the roof, nor under the beams. Never place the bed at the window, if it is unavoidable, cover that window up and never use it again. Placing the bed at the window could cause too much wind and unidentify cold, health is greatly effected. So if you really like the placement, use think fabric to cover the window or big beautiful painting which has no water in it, a grass prairie or swan, no messy abstract painting either. The idea is to turn the window into something else that doesn’t make the viewer see it as a window.

Also never have a mirror reflecting the bed or any shinny objects that could refects, it makes the bed looks too crowded. The bed should be position along the plank of the wood not crossed if you have wood floor.

Next, do not have any sharp edged bed or any sharp part of other furnitures pointing at your bed. Do not place anything ( painting, night lamp, etc.) or have a headboard that symbolyze fire on the bed area. Bedroom should be tranquil, not too much energy so you could get good sleep. Clear and unclutter under the bed, you could put out of season clothes in a container and put it under the bed but don’t make it look messy.

your first position is better than the second one, as your head is supported by a wall – meaning that your decisions in life are supported, strong, and no one dares to backstab you. the only bad thing here is that the door is behind you. to remedy this, you might want to lock the door, while you sleep. in fengshui, when you are surprised because someone suddenly open the door – this robs you of chi. when you lock the door, they knock first. then you don’t get surprised.

regarding sleep, you need to make the bedroom only and only for sleeping. you need to remove all electronics out of the bedroom – the tv, computers/ laptop, stereo – all must go. then you must dim the room in time of bed. also make the room as quiet as possible or wear wax ear plugs.

fengshui for the bedroom is not really about having good night sleep. it deals more to have a better life like having a wall supporting your head means that other people cannot affect you because you remain to be strong and decisive.
