Hi there, i’m trying to organise/decorate my new room to be more balanced and Feng Shui- someone suggested to find out my Bazi element first before choosing colours, but how do i work that out?? i couldn’t find anything on google
bazi refers to destiny calculation, it’s a branch of fengshui. nothing to do with your room or house. for that you need to use your birthdate to calculate for your element or the element of your kua using 8 mansions formula. 8 mansions and bazi are 2 different things. the element from your 8 mansions generalizes about your personality, while the element from your year in bazi, is a characteristic of that year.
you can color your room with any color you want. there is no such thing as fengshui by color. just be careful in using bright colors like bright red, bright orange and bright yellow. bec the bedroom should be more yin than yang. and bright colors can activate chi – which can either be bad or good. it is good if your room has good chi; but what if it has bad chi? chi is energy that is in a particular space; this energy can only be calculated using fengshui methods, it cannot be felt nore sensed even if you’re a psychic. and there is no such thing as a color to make your room have good chi.
so how is a bedroom with good chi achieved? first, using a compass, measure the facing degree of the front main door of the house (usually leading to the road, this is different from a condominium, which takes the main entrance at the ground floor as the main front door, thus all tenants have 1 door). then using this, you use flying stars method to calculate for the chi distribution inside the house. you pick a location where there is good chi, and place your bedroom there. to do it the other way around – if the house is built with your bedroom, is a bit harder, though yhou can tilt your main front door to shift the chi distribution to your advantage.
how do fengshui makes life easier? by using the good chi and leaving the areas with bad chi alone for our toilets, storage, garage – rooms less used. when we use a room, it activates the chi in that room, manifesting its energy. so if it has good chi, good things happen; if it has bad, then we experience accidents.
