The Modern Book of Feng Shui by Steven Post is a good book to start with. Lillian Too writes a great book on Feng Shui and includes a lot of other things in it as well, but it’s very easy to read and follow. You could probably find her work over on Amazon.com

I had a professional Feng Shui consultant help me with my new home. It was costly $400 but I learned alot. It you want the full benefits of Feng Shui that is the best way to go. She spent 4 hours at my home measuring the interior walls and opennings and the exterior. She did many calculations that I could not do from a book. With those calculations she showed how to improve the energy flow in the home. And why the bedroom was not healthy and how to get in in the right mood.
I tried to do what she asked in basic ways. I have yet to do all the things but need to work on it.
It is amazing when she tell you why you should not use certain doors like my french doors and it all made sense.

The best books on the market are the ones by Lillian Too.
She is the authority. Start out with her "Easy to Use Feng Shui" book. Also try KISS guide to Feng Shui.
Feng Shui is all about balance and harmony in your home.
It makes for better health and happiness.

regarding books by ms. lillian too, you need to remember that she is a good writer, but she’s no fengshui expert. she learned it from master yap cheng hai of malaysia. though her books can teach you the basics of 8 mansions and flying stars. she kinda didn’t include the advanced applications of these 2 concepts.

there is a book: A Master Course in Feng-shui by ms. eva wong, buy the second edition, as it has more exercises at the end of the book. it teaches flying stars more in detail.

websites and blogs? forget it, all of them have something to sell. and you cannot learn anything new from them.

last communities. there are a few yahoogroups that discuss fengshui issues. but these are only for students who enrolled in fengshui courses – these are only by invitations. there are free yahoo groups, but you cannot really get good materials on these. most of the useful materials i got are from seminars i attended.

There’s actually a wealth of resources on feng shui, but it really depends on which type of feng shui you are trying to implement into your home. There’s the new age Feng Shui (where everything is generalized and they still say it is traditional) or the authentic Feng Shui (acknowledges individuality in person and solutions) used by the chinese.

Keep in mind, it seems to be the trend nowadays of everyone saying they are the grand feng shui master, trained so and so, trained by so and so, authentic. Use your logic and know that not everything can be solved by hanging a windchime, red string or crystal ball.

However, i have found that books by Albert Low seem to strike a good balance of retaining the traditional rulings and giving examples of how it can be applied for modern use.

The best book I’ve read (and I’ve read ~a lot~) was Feng Shui your Life by Jayme Barrett. It applies Feng Shui principles in a really easy to use way, incorporating western style decorating and taste. And it’s full of photos too! The first webpage is a book review of it and the second is a good page on Feng Shui:
